FLORIDA · 134,743 LICENCES · TWO STATE BOARDS

Florida's licensed construction and electrical contractors, from the state licensing boards' records. Free to search.

Type a business name, licence number or trade. Pick a county, or add a town, to narrow it. Construction and electrical contractors are licensed by two separate state boards; we search both files and every result says which board it comes from.

116,768 construction licences (106,000 in the records retrieved 7 Sep 2026, the rest as last recorded) and 10,474 business registrations · 17,975 electrical licences, retrieved 30 Sep 2026 · statewide

A record, not a directory

Registers show who is licensed now.
Nobody keeps who was.

The state publishes a file of current licensees. Renew late and you drop out of it. Close the business and you vanish from it entirely.

That's the moment the record matters most — a defect surfaces, a claim is filed, a buyer asks who did the work. We keep each state record we retrieve, with the date we retrieved it.

Each entry shows the licences a business holds, the trade each one covers, the year each was first issued, and the status and expiry as the state register recorded them — with the date of that file.

We publish what's in the record and nothing we've worked out about it.

An illustration. The business name and licence numbers are placeholders, not a real record.

Absence from the state's records is not the same as losing a licence.

Florida's construction licence register excludes null-and-void, delinquent and involuntarily inactive records. A contractor missing from the latest records may simply have renewed late. We record that they were absent, and on which date — we don't decide which of the three it was.

Free to claim

Claim your entry

Is this your business? Claim it to correct the record. A person reads every claim.

Claim it and complete your profile, and you can download a print-ready QR code for your truck and your cards that resolves to it.

What we won't do

No rating, no star score, no ranking. A count is what's in the record; a score would be our opinion of your business.

Every licensed business has an entry from the public register. Claim it to correct the record. A person reads every claim.

Find your entry to claim it — free

Find your business, open its page and choose Claim This Profile. Your claim is saved and a person is told about it; claims are approved by hand, and when yours is we email you a link to set your password. We can’t yet promise how long that takes. Electrical licence entries are claimed by email for now — the entry page says how.

What's behind it

Held today.

116,768Construction licences, issued by the Construction Industry Licensing Board (plus 10,474 business registrations, which hold no licence of their own)
17,975Electrical and alarm licences, issued by the Electrical Contractors’ Licensing Board
110,983Construction businesses, one entry each, however many licences they hold
8.5MFlorida parcels with a building record

We hold permit registers for two counties, but matching a permit to a contractor by name is not yet reliable enough to put on an entry, so entries don't show permits.
